The houses on Alexander Street marked with a red & white X are being offered for free by Princeton University. These marks indicate to the local fire department that the buildings are empty. The houses, located just south of campus, must be moved by the new owners to another location.  These houses have been used for a number of purposes, including as university offices.

The houses are offered in “as-is” condition and the houses will need mostly interior repairs to be converted into livable quarters. Any remaining houses at the end of April will be demolished and replaced with the Art and Transit (ANT) project. That project is a mixed-use development featuring a combination of retail and public space; such as shops, parks, a pedestrian walkway, an arts center, and a new train station.
