Heading Home is a brief preview of Welcome Home, a report on alternative grants, loans, tax incentives, etc.; as a resource for obtaining the necessary funding for moving or repairing historic and non-historic properties. Instead of listing funding sources by state, the focus is on a select group of national programs, loans, and other financial products that are generally available across the entire U. S. through local, regional, and/or national governmental or financial institutions (unless for some reason an exception exists for a particular state). The brief preview is 10 pages with a table of contents. It includes a preview of the detailed information about a tax incentive program for historic and non-historic commercial buildings. This brief preview also reveals the name of a specialized loan for the purchase or repair of a primary residence. Heading Home gives enough information to allow you to continue your own research on these two funding sources; get additional details on the two funding sources in the expanded preview, On the Way Home; or decide to immediately obtain more valuable information about these and other funding methods in the full report, Welcome Home.

Welcome Home: Report
Free House News has compiled Welcome Home, a report on alternative grants, loans, tax incentives, etc.; as a resource for obtaining the necessary funding for moving or repairing historic and non-historic properties. Instead of listing funding sources by state, the focus is on a select group of national programs, loans, and other financial products that are generally available across the entire U. S. through local, regional, and/or national governmental or financial institutions (unless for some reason an exception exists for a particular state). Detailed information is included about a tax incentive program for historic and non-historic commercial buildings. There is also detailed information concerning the two types of a specialized loan for the purchase or repair of a primary residence and how this specialized loan differs from a more common form of the loan. The full report then continues by listing more general info about two more grants and a loan for historic properties. There is also a loan for purchasing or repairing homes and investment properties which doesn’t require historic status. The report adds several other creative ideas for funding sources. Welcome Home concludes with the Funding Comparison Chart that will help pinpoint the funding sources most applicable to a particular project. This is followed by the Information Chart and Organizations list to assist with contacting organizations about various programs. You can spend countless frustrating hours or months of research to uncover just a fraction of the valuable information in this report or get Welcome Home now and immediately obtain the resources to pursue alternative funding for a home purchase, structural move, or other building renovation project.

Developers will pay you $10,000 to remove the Loring-McMartin (also referred to as the Vermeulen house) from a Kalamazoo historic site. The approximately 704 sq. ft. Greek Revival structure was built in the 1840s and later expanded to 1296 sq. ft. The structure is 1 ½ stories of painted brick. For the past 150 years, the building has been occupied mostly by the same family. The last resident left in 2016.

Fashion designer Manuel Cuevas is best known for his colorful garment designs for country and rock and roll stars, including Johnny Cash, Elton John, Burt Reynolds, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Bono, Marty Stuart, Dwight Yoakam, Elvis Presley, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, George Jones, Glen Campbell, and the Rolling Stones. Over 25 years he was visited in his studio and retail store, Manuel Couture, by these artists, in addition to kings from other countries and presidents. That historic building is free for relocation and preservation of the structure. Cuevas called it a “Historic Jewel for Nashville,” describing the rooms as “elegant, beautiful” and wishes that he was still in the building.
