Five children and a foster license might equal a free house and car. The free house and car is available from a nonprofit organization for two married couples with foster licenses. The name of the organization is Fostering Hope Florida. The organization will be looking for the best couples by conducting interviews during the months of August to October 2009.
Interested couples without a foster license must complete the training course Model Approach Parenting Partnership (MAPP) that spans a 10-week period. The chosen couples must also pass background screenings. Another stipulation is that one of the parents must work fulltime with the children. However, the couples will also receive additional assistance of six hours per week for each child from the program.
Two Hope Houses with dedicated foster parents are already active in New Port Richey/Pasco County and Spring Hill/Hernando County areas. Hope Houses are operated through the generosity of donations and grants. Donations are being accepted for the $40,000 down payment towards another Hope House in Pinellas County at the organization’s website http://www.fosteringhopeflorida.com/. This program has been endorsed by the Hernando County Foster and Adoptive Association.
