It’s being called “the ultimate do-it-yourself” challenge. Couples or companions (romantic, friends, or family) that do not currently own their own home in the greater Atlanta area or those willing to relocate to Atlanta may qualify for a competition to renovate and win their dream home. The couples will live together for up to nine weeks; designing, building, and renovating a home to complete a series of intense challenges.  The couples will be battling for a right to the deed of the renovated home worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This is a new competition show by Relativity Television, the creators of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and a major television network. Interested couples can attend an open casting call or complete an application form if unable to attend a casting call. Production is tentatively planned to begin sometime in May. Each person of the couple team is required to submit a separate application.  Couples must meet certain eligibility criteria to qualify for the competition. The two main requirements are that applicants cannot currently own a home and must be available for the entire production run in the Atlanta area.  Part of the application also requests pictures of couples’ do-it-yourself (DIY) projects and renovations.  A casting producer will contact the couples chosen for the next round of casting. There will be several rounds of casting over several weeks. Selected couples will most likely be sequestered having limited contact with the outside world during the production.
