Reynolda Rd House for Upset Bids

Upset Bids with no minimum amount required are being solicited by the City of Winston-Salem for a one-and-a-half story house with four bedrooms and two baths that needs to be moved to another lot. Offers should be sent to the City Council for approval. The City Council meets once a month. After receiving an acceptable offer, the bids will be subject to provisions of N.C.G.S. 160A-269, an Upset Bid procedure.

This will include an advertisement in the Winston-Salem Journal which marks the start of the Upset Bid period of 10 days. During that time, anyone has the opportunity to upset the bid by offering 5% more than the original bid. If this occurs, then the new bid replaces the original bid and the process continues for an additional 10 days. Once a bid is not upset for 10 days, it will be assigned as the winning bid.

The 2356 sq. ft. house was built in 1923 and is located at 2423 Reynolda Road. The land and structure was purchased by the City in September 2014 for $122,200; the building alone is valued around $83,034. The Forsyth County Geo-Data Explorer (the county’s interactive GIS [geographic information systems] tool for searching tax records) has tax information on the house. The Parcel Pin ID is 6816-99-2548.00. Interested parties should contact the City to schedule viewings and inspections. The removal deadline for the building is to be arranged between the buyer and the City. The house will be replaced with a new fire station which is the rebuild of Fire Station No. 8. The fire station project was approved by voters in the November 2014 bond referendum.
