North of College Station in Calvert, TX is a free house for the first person who can provide a contract with a moving company.
The house was built in the late 1800s. Over the years, a bathroom and an extra room was added to the original house. The house was leveled several years ago. This caused some damage to the extra room and the windows frames are now out of alignment. The fireplace has also been removed and covered with boards. On the other hand, the current siding on the exterior has protected the wood that is underneath this covering. The building, located at 217 Hickory St., is in need of restoration.
