You can own 935 square feet of the City of Golden’s history.
This historic 1923 home is yours almost for free as long as you commit to moving by Tuesday, April 1st and move the structure by mid-May. Being state property, the house can’t be offered completely for free. Instead, arrangements will be made for the recipient to purchase the home for a nominal charge. Any interested parties will also have to take care of insurance requirements concerning the house move.
The Historic Preservation Board considers the building a significant part of Golden’s history. Therefore, the City of Golden hopes to find someone that can take advantage of this offer. The current location of the house, 18th and Illinois streets, will be the site of the new Welcome Center of The Colorado School of Mines (CSM).
